International Father’s Day Celebration:
The Feast of the Fathers is an event with a long history, it was celebrated for a long time without official decrees. The celebration does not have a specific date to which it would be tied. In many countries, for example the USA, Canada, Venezuela, Argentina, France, Greece, Ireland, it is customary to celebrate Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June. But a number of states celebrate and honor the popes on completely different dates. The first region of Russia, which established the Fathers Day, was the Volgograd region, which appointed the holiday on November 1. New Zealand and Australia classified the date of the holiday on the second Sunday in August. Thailand hosts celebrations on December 5. In Germany, the holiday was legally justified in 1936 and falls on celebrations for the Ascension of the Lord. Finland, Estonia and Sweden congratulate the popes on the second Sunday in November. History of the Father’s Day:
The idea to celebrate the day in which the fathers were honored, visited in the distant 1909, Sonora Louise Smart Dodd. She attended the church service on the occasion of Mother’s Day. The American wanted to note the efforts of her father. He heroically raised six children to his feet after his wife was killed during the last birth. As an adult woman, Dodd understood the efforts of her dad to grow them all on her farm.
Sonora Dodd decided to make a petition, and then submitted it to the city authorities, who took interest in the idea with interest. Already in 1910, the first celebration in honor of the fathers in the streets of the hometown of Sonora Dodd was held. Quite quickly, the idea of the holiday was picked up across the country. The American initiative was supported by US President Calvin Coolidge in 1924, and in 1956 the US Congress adopted a resolution that said that it was necessary to establish a holiday at the state level.
But things dragged on. Despite the signing by Lindon Johnson, the next president of the country, the corresponding proclamation, the male Congressional staff, fearing to be perverted by prejudice, did not give his approval. Only in 1972 Richard Nixon gave the Father’s Day official status.
